We started Drop Dot Cookies in 2010, baking simple hand-scooped dog treats in our home kitchen. After selling at local farmers markets in Port Orchard and Gig Harbor, our treats quickly gained a loyal following.

One day, the owner of a pet boutique in Gig Harbor stopped by our booth and asked if we could make decorated dog cookies for her bakery case. After politely declining several times, we finally decided to give it a try. With plenty of practice and research, we created our first batch of beautifully decorated cookies. They sold out almost immediately, and the demand grew faster than we ever imagined.

As orders increased, we brought on our first helper — a friend who decorated cookies to earn extra income and supplement her Social Security. Seeing how much joy it brought her inspired us to expand the idea. We began delivering cookie dough to other seniors in our community, giving them a meaningful way to work from home and earn additional income.

After years of selling at farmers markets and supplying local mom-and-pop pet stores, we formed a wonderful partnership with the Pet Pros chain. For 8–10 years, they purchased nearly every cookie we could produce. Working with them was an absolute pleasure — they were some of the kindest and easiest people we’ve ever partnered with.

When the owners of Pet Pros decided to retire and sell the business, we transitioned back to selling on Etsy and a few local stores. Now, we’re excited to step into this next chapter on our own. We’ve launched our website so we can sell both retail and wholesale directly to pet parents and stores across the country — fully in control of sharing our decorated dog cookies with the world.
